Art

Our art curriculum at Stapleford Abbotts Primary Academy is based on our topics. This is a curriculum that enables children to develop their creative, critical thinking and making skills.

Children are encouraged to take risks and experiment on their art journey where they will be taught a progression of knowledge and skills. Children will meet, learn about and be stimulated and inspired by a wide range of artists and will work towards a final piece. 

The foundations of the Art curriculum are learnt through the key concepts of line, colour, shape, texture, pattern, form and space and shade. The children progressively learn these concepts in order to develop and create their own artwork through the mediums of drawing, painting, collage and printing and sculpture.
